The Retreat at New Covenant welcomes all people in order to create a multiethnic, cross-generational, mixed-income, green/eco-friendly neighborhood with innovative design features and safety technology. The Retreat at New Covenant will also serve as a research and development center for collaborative faith-based organizational, family and community development. It is envisioned that the Retreat at New Covenant will attract some families who will live in the community with experience and interests to research and develop, implement, and evaluate best practices for collaborative faith-based organizational, family, and community development locally, regionally within the domestic United States and abroad.
Our Mission is Love
The mission of the Retreat Charlotte West Development Partners, LLC regarding all that we seek to be, to become, and to do is captured in the three Love Commandments according to Mark 12:30-31 and John 13:34-35.
"And you shall love the Lord your God with all of your heart, and with all of your soul, and with all of your mind, and with all of your strength. The second is this, you shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these."
"A New Commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."
Our Appointment
The Retreat Charlotte West Development Partners, LLC believe that it has been appointed to accomplish the above purpose according to the following biblical scriptures: Isaiah 61:1; Luke 4:18; Isaiah 1:17; Isaiah 58:12; Malachi 4:6; and Zechariah 8:4-5.
The Spirit of the Lord God is upon us, because the Lord has anointed us to...
Bring good news to the afflicted;
Heal the broken hearted;
Proclaim liberty to captives, and
Freedom to the oppressed...
Learn to do good;
Seek justice,
Reprove the Ruthless,
Defend the Orphan, and
Plead for the Widow.
And those from among us will....
Rebuild the ancient ruins;
Restore the places long devastated;
and Renew the ruined cities
that have been devastated for generations.
And we shall be called the Repairer of the Breach,
The Restorer of the Streets in which to dwell.
And we shall partner with the indigenous community leadership and other partners to...
Restore the Hearts of the Fathers to their Children and
Restore the Hearts of the Children to their Fathers...where
Old men and old women will again sit in the streets of the city...and
The streets of the city will be filled with boys and girls playing in its streets.
